#68 Beyoncé: Renaissance

Beyoncé has made an estimated $114 million in digital single sales, along with $29.5 million from albums.

Beyoncé and Jay-Zed’s 2018 ‘On the Run II’ tour took in $250 million, to go with the $95 million they’d already grossed with the original 2014 ‘On the Run’ tour. Her 2016 ‘Formation’ tour made $256 million.

U.S.A! U.S.A!

Joel Berg, CEO of Hunger Free America, has calculated the cost of ending hunger in the US at $25 billion.

By 2013, she had already sold $400 million of her signature perfume.

She signed a $50 million deal to promote Pepsi in 2021

Bey bought her husband a $40 million jet for a Father’s Day present in 2012. A Father’s Day present!! The ruling class are fucking gross.

She owns a number of properties including homes in the Hamptons, New Orleans and a $88 million Bel-Air mansion. However, since she is often on the road she instead pays £20’000 a night for hotels. She also owns ‘a few’ islands.

It would cost $20 million to end homelessness in the USA.

Netflix paid her $60 million to produce three movies including her concert movie ‘Homecoming’

Her eldest daughter Blue Ivy was given an $80,000 Barbie doll encrusted with real diamonds for her first birthday, and also received a $600,000 gold rocking horse when she was still a baby. Twins Rumi and Sir were given matching $106,000 cribs.

There are roughly twelve million children living in poverty in the US.

Don’t be telling me to “Release your job“, you utterly heartless capitalist leech.

Yeah, I already reviewed this album when it came out, and my opinion on its contents remain largely the same. I am baffled that we now live in a time when performing a well observed and faithfully recreated homage to other people’s music – an artist cosplaying as other less celebrated/wealthy artists – is regarded as the height of achievement. And you can fuck off with your “we’re all in this together”, “work hard all day”, “Africa is King” liberalwashing bullshit. Beyoncé isn’t powerless, there are countless things she could do to make real change. She could make real structural improvements to the continent of Africa, rather than just filming some pathetic liberal love in. She pretends to be just like us, and on our side. She is not like us, and she is absolutely on the side of the ruling class that is behind every single issue you have in your life.

Get fucked, Beyoncé, you’re a cunt.

2016 #1

2014 #5

Metacritic: 91

That’s honestly insane, and I would love someone to do an investigation into such widespread delusion, what was in the air that compelled people to rate this album so high? Did the world feel that we needed an another classic Bey album? Well, I’m on the right side of history, and one day the whole world will agree with me that this record is far too often far too m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m
